Awards and Recognition

$100,000 From the P.F.A.

Ms. Powell Berger, President of the Le Jardin Academy's P.F.A., presented Headmaster Adrian Allan with a check for $100,00. This money will be used to finance our faculty's professional development as we move toward being certified as an International Baccalaureate school.

Le Jardin Receives Kukuhale Award!

Le Jardin Academy’s new high school building was selected by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), for the Hawaii Chapter Kukulu HaleAwards. These awards recognize those who have made a significant contribution to Hawaii’s commercial real estate industry and our communities.

Le Jardin Academy’s award was under the category of New Project – Non-Profit. During the award ceremony, the school’s project was described as follows: "Le Jardin Academy is nominated for its new high school facility which is 19,800 square feet of new classroom, laboratory and assembly space, surrounding a large courtyard gathering area integrated into the existing Le Jardin Campus. The new high school complex was completed in July of 2002 after a six-month construction period and immediately opened for summer school programs. In an age of rising public facility costs and extended timelines, this project is an example of how efficient design and well-executed construction can provide much-needed educational facilities in a short construction time and at a cost of under 100 dollars per square foot." The award was accepted by Allan Dowsett (Chairman of the Board), the Headmaster, and Frey Heath of Heath Construction Services.

Fourth Graders Speak to the Kailua Neighborhood Board.

Fourth graders presented their project, Save Kailua Bay, to the Kailua Neighborhood board. Our students are collaborating with the LET foundation and other Windward schools to do original research and then present their findings on a website.
