Jon Scott Kuehner Scholarship

Jessica Shiarella, 2004 recipient
of the Jon Scott Kuehner Scholarship, poses with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Jon Kuehner.

Jon Scott Kuehner, a University of Hawaii student,
with plans to be a teacher, first came to Le Jardin Academy as
a Summer School aide. It was the summer of our move to this new
campus and Scott stayed on to help. With a helpful, positive and
responsible manner, he was instantly recruited to work on the campus
with our Buildings & Grounds department while he continued
his studies at the University.
Scott made an enormous impact in the Le Jardin community and touched
the lives of many. The legacy he leaves behind is…
• Someone who greeted life and its many tasks, chores, and
adversities always with a smile
• Someone who desired to help others to learn, to be a teacher
• Someone who cared for our students and had fun with them
• Someone who enjoyed living in a place of natural beauty called Hawaii
• Someone who exemplified an upbeat example that we are here to find the
best in others and to leave the world a little bit better through our presence
• Someone who started an educational program for Andes natives in Brazil
that became a National outreach
Jon Scott Kuehner’s family has established an annual Jon
Scott Kuehner Scholarship Fund to an eighth grade student who exemplifies
Scott’s focus on giving.
