HIGH SCHOOL COURSES
Graduation Requirements


A total of 22 credits are required for a student to graduate from Le Jardin Academy's High
School. In addition, students are expected to complete 30 hours of community service in
their Senior year and to write an extended essay or complete and write up a report on a
topic of original scientific research that has been approved by the Science Department
Chairperson.

 

These 22 credits must include the following:

4 English
3 Math (including Algebra I,Geometry, Algebra II)
3 Science (including Biology)
3 Social Studies(including US World History, US Government)
2 Foreign Language (Consqueutive years)
1 Fine Art
3 Physical Education
3 Elective

1 Foreign Language course:
French I or II
Japanese I or II
Spanish I or II
Chinese I (Mandarin) or Chinese II

GRADE 10 REQUIRED CLASSES

English 10 or Honors English 10
US History
Chemistry or Chemistry Honors
1 Math course
1 Foreign Language course
At least 1 elective course


GRADE 11 REQUIRED CLASSES


American Literature or AP English Literature and Composition
Comparative Government
1 Math course
1 Science course
At least 1 elective course

GRADE 12 REQUIRED CLASSES


British Literature or AP English Literature
At least 4 other required or elective courses
