In the Junior year, the 3rd P.E. credit can be earned by participating
in 2 ILH sports in the same
school year. Credit will be awarded, but no grade given. If Sports
Participation P.E. credit is not
earned in 11th grade, students must enroll in a regular P.E. class
in the 12th grade.
A Physically Educated Student:

movement forms

6. Respects others’ right to participate in sports activities
All students attending Le Jardin will be asked to demonstrate
their ability to perform a survival swim test administered to all
PE 9 and new students in Grades 10 –12.P.E. 9 emphasizes
physical fitness concepts. Throughout the semester students will
use the concepts taught as a carry over in developing
their own exercise and nutrition program for a healthy lifestyle.
Activities will include running, swimming, water polo, basketball,
volleyball, soccer, lacrosse and field hockey.

Aims:
The purpose of the course is to experience, through participation, some aspects
of a variety of
Dance styles. For example: Contemporary, Jazz, Modern, Stage etc.
Through these varied styles of Dance the students will gain a knowledge of
movement
vocabulary related to that dance style, build these into small motifs, then
into small sequences
and finally into a dance performance.
In addition, the students will gain the relevant knowledge of choreography
technique and
appropriate music selection.
Assessment:
The assessment of the course will be continuous, but with a particular emphasis
on a final
choreography performance, in which the music, theme, dance style and movements
will all be
chosen, rehearsed and performed by the student.
