I personally wish to express my sense
of gratitude to the first graduating class, the Class of
2006. These are very special
young men and women. Most students are awed by the idea of
moving on to their high school, but at least there is, upon
arrival, a worn path to follow. These students arrived at
a brand new high school and were faced by a dense forest.
There
were no paths in sight. They were promised by their teachers
that there was, somewhere out there on the other side of
the high school jungle, daylight and college. All they had
to do
was study diligently, be willing to start a student government,
create all the social events, establish school spirit, get
the athletics program up and running, take AP examinations,
participate in as much as possible and it would all work
out. It sounds daunting when it is listed like that, doesn’t
it? This class has been like the explorers of darkest Africa
in the 18th century. They have had to cut the path and earn
the respect of the other inhabitants of the high school world.
During their four year journey, they have made countless
friends for this school, marked the trail for those that
will follow
them and earned their rewards in the colleges of their choice.
Le Jardin will never forget any of you. You will be forever
a special class in the history of this school.
