France Trip 2006

Bonjour. I’m Allison Bourdlaies, Middle school and first grade teacher at Le Jardin Academy. This March I took five students and two adults to France on a 10 day voyage. The students who participated were: Tyler and Rachel, both 8th graders; Will, Stephanie and Sami, all 7th graders. We were accompanied by Patricia Van Emmerik and Marie Kane, Sami’s grandmother and mother, respectively. Our extraordinary tour consisted of visiting castles, Normandy beaches and bunkers, preparing a gourmet meal in a culinary institute with a chef supervision, seeing the Bayeux Tapestry created in 1066, among countless other life-changing experiences. History abounded, came alive for the students. I will have a meeting soon to begin enrolling next year’s (2007) travel participants. Check K12 messages for meeting information. Remember, we welcome parents to join us on our next voyage!
