A Message from the Principal

Bonjour!

The Le Jardin Lower School is a nurturing, caring, and busy “garden.”
Wednesdays and Thursdays are Lower School D.E.A.R. days when we take time to soak in the benefits and joys of reading. On Wednesdays and Thursday mornings, you will find the entire Lower School Ohana, including the teachers, aides, assistants, and administrators dropping everything to read!

On Tuesday and Friday mornings we gather as a school for our Flag Ceremony, which includes announcements, recognitions, the pledge, a patriotic song, and the school song. On Fridays, students and faculty across the grade levels share original writings, skits, artwork, and thoughts about the character quality of the month. The fifth graders form the Flag Crew.
Each school day is filled with learning and fun! Le Jardin students are inquisitive and love to learn. Besides the academics such as language arts, science, social studies, and mathematics, Lower School students are also enriched in foreign language instruction (French), music, art, health, physical education, library and computer.

Our school fields teams in volleyball, basketball, and swimming for both boys and girls. After school classes are available for Tae Kwon Do, chess, swimming, performing arts, science, and ukulele. Le Jardin students are enriched and busy!

The Lower School Student Council meets weekly. They earn thousands of dollars for their school projects and people in need, spearhead community service, and consult on school issues. The WLJA News Team produces a weekly Lower School news segment. Each grade level is also involved in a community service project.

This year, we embarked on our journey to become the first Elementary school in the state to become an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school.
I hope you enjoy your journey through our web pages.

Aloha,
Mrs. Kaori Brown
Lower School Principal
