First Grade
We believe
that children need to make connections, and education
is most meaningful when curriculum is theme-related,
relevant, hands-on, and integrated across the core
subjects. We honor the multiple intelligences of
our students and respect their variety of learning
styles by using music, art, physical activity, and
cooperative learning in our teaching. Embedded in
the content of our curriculum are character education
and social skills. Qualities practiced over the months
are: The Golden Rule, respect, responsibility, peacefulness,
compassion, courage, integrity, cooperation, and
perseverance.
