Home heating systems can also be a major source of air pollution, heating systems produce a billion tons of carbon dioxide and about 12% of the sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides emitted nationwide. Reducing energy demand for heating and using clean-burning fuels like propane are the most effective ways to cut heating bills in half and improve the environment at the same time.
