Brain Games
In the fifth grade we are styding the human
body. At that time we were styding about the brain. Ms.
Coarsey, our teacher, made us make up entertaining games.
In this picture Kaley, Michael, and I were practicing
our
game
to make
sure it
was about
the
time
Ms. Coarsey
wanted, which was 10 minutes long. Also you had to
finish on time. The game we made was called "The Brain
Train." The object of our game was to get
to the brain faster
than your teammates. Also you had to answer questions on
the way, if you got the answer right you would move forward
if you
got the answer wrong you would stay where you were. It
would stay on the card what to
do. I think we did very good on our game and alot of people
enjoyed it.i think we had to use the quality knowledgeable.
I also think that my tablemates would say so too.

Bishop Museum
In this picture I was balancing on a metal
platform. This picture was taken at the Bishop
Museum, in the Brain Exhibit. The museum exibits change
each month and will probably come back shortly. The fifth
grade students are still learning about the brain and
body. At the Bishop
Mueseum
I learned
alot
of fun new
facts. One of the facts were, that there are
at least 50 different shapes of neurons in your brain that
do the same
thing, send and recieve messages from and
to your body. I am having a lot of fun learning about the
brain and body especially because Ms. Coarsey
my
wonderful
teacher
is
teaching it
to us.

Brain Demo by Doctor Belnap
Dr. Belnap generously came to Le Jardin Academy
from work so she could show us a real brain. She talked
to us about
the main parts of the brain there is the cerebrum that controls
your thinking, memory, decscissions and your involuntary
movements. Also she talked about the cerebellum and how
it controls
your balance. The other parts of the brain is your hypothalamus
that controls and produce your hormones. A fact that she
told us is that your hypothalymus is as small
as a pea. Some people said the brain smelled like fried
chicken. I enjoyed
learning
about the brain and hope that she had a great time and opportunity
to teach children in the fifth grade about the brain. |
"How to Project"
In the fifth grade we are learning about
Rites of Passages. For our project we all had to pick our
own rite of passage
that we wanted to write about. My rite of passage that
I wrote about was Make
Up. I interviewed my mom and I
really enjoyed spending time with her , somehow
I feel closer to my mom and that makes me very happy.
