My Grandma
by Nicole Tanaka

She wears a special bracelet
Made from string and beads
It spells out my name sunshine
Big and bold to see

I see a twinkle in her eye
Through her tiny glasses
And when I come to see her
She shouts out “here’s my sunshine”
Her long nails love to tickle me
On my neck, tummy, or anywhere

I hear her friendly chuckle
I could hear her anywhere
Because of my special name
I know she is thinking of me

On Sunday I cannot wait
For dinner at her house
When we all start to eat
The sunshine hits my face
And everything starts over
It’s like a brand new day

When I come to see her
I run and hug her tight
And suddenly I fell so

Loved

Holiday Animation

Doing my holiday animation was very fun. We spent about 3 or 4 computer days doing the animation. Mrs. Hiatt helped us and also said that we were doing very well and going at a good pace. I dedicated that animation to all of my family and friends because they love and care for me.

Our Rights

In Social Studies Ms. Coarseys class did presentations about the war. Michael, Maddy, Kai and I were saying a poem about how we think that the British aren't treating us right. The song that we performed was called Our Rights. I had a very good time working with different people I don't usually work with and lots more await.

Student led Conferences

This year the Lower school tried a new type of conference. The conference was called a "Student led Conference". In the conference the student would lead the parents in fun activities about the subjects that they learn about. Some of the activities that we did was a math drill with. Also we did a poem. I did a poem with my mother about my 5th birthday party. My poem was called " !! PARTY TIME!! ". I had a fun time doing this poem with my mom and it was a good mother daughter bond.
