Brain Study

Bishop Museum

When the 5th grade visited the Bishop Museum we saw lots of different games and activities. One of my favorite things to look at was the different animal brains .I never knew how small a dolphins brain could be. We also got to see how fast our reaction was by touching something hot. Everyone had an excellent time.

Brain Games

Our whole class got put into groups to do the brain games. What we had to do was make a game about the brain. My group did brain trivia. We had six questions squished in between two pink sponges .I learned that the corpus colosum is a large bundle of nerves.

Brain Dissection

Dr. Belnap came in to show us a real human brain. I learned that it smelt bad because they put a special liquid so the brain would stay together. I also learned that you form wrinkles on your brain as you get older. I had lots of fun touching the brain. It felt very slippery.

Sweet Sixteen

Each person in my class was assigned a rites of passage. We had to list steps on how to prepare for it. I did sweet sixteen. After we were done we put all the pages in to a book. I can tell that the book will be great.
