Government

Executive Branch

Mario, Felice, Hunter, Christina, Tyler, and I were chosen to put on a performance to explain to the class what the Executive Branch was. Our group decided to write a short play. In it, our play was a parody of the old play "A Christmas Carol". There was a president who didn't know what to do in the office, so the ghost of George Washington, John Adams, and Abe Lincoln come and help him!

Constitution

In class one of our projects was to create a short constitution for anything such as a city or island. I chose an unique place to write a constitution for. Hippo-Oceana is an under water city where fish rome the land. In our constitutions we had to explain how the government is set up, and how decisions are made, like laws and an army. This project was pretty tricky, but it is still worth doing again.

Reflection

Through all the fun activities we have did on this study, I have learned the difficulty of writing a constitution that will not fall apart in a few years. Also I learned about the government in the united states today, and the government in other countries. Through our skit activity I learned the depth of the three branches of government in the United States. Like I said, writing a constitution for a whole new country is pretty tricky. You have to think of elections, a militia, and even a way to set up laws. Hopefully in the future I learn even more about different governments because this is truly cool.
