All About the Brain

Brain Game

For our group's Brain Game we called it the Brain Toss (left). To Play you have three tries to get it into one of the designated holes. Each hole is worth a certain amount of points, the person with the highest amount of points in the end wins. During this activity I learned that the Cerebellum controls the human's balance. I personally really like this game because everyone has fun and its not a strategic game.

Brain Field Trip

In December, 2007 the fifth grade went to Bishop museum and learned miraculous things about the brain. We had a great time and alot of fun we were able to play games (right) and enjoy fun activities. I learned that music is actually very good for your brain, I figured that out because I really like music. I enjoyed this field trip and I want to go back for another visit.

Dr. Belnap

In January, 2008 we Le Jardin had a visit from a brain doctor. Mrs. Belnap brought in a real human brain! It was amazing! All the students of fifth grade got a chance to touch the brain (left) while some others were grossed out and passed. I learned that the brain isn't actually pink or red it's a grayish pinkish color. I learned so much about the brain and I wish I had more time to learn more about the brain.

How To

In the Fifth Grade students are making pages for a How To book. I did a page on How to Prepare for New and Different Teachers. On this page students will find tips for how to deal with this subject.
