Brain

Real Brain

Doctor Belnap visited LJA to show and tell about a real human brain. At first it was quite gross and it didn't smell like a bucket of roses, but in the end I learned a lot. One thing that I did learn is that the brain consists of many different parts. Dr. Belnap explained to us how the brain's functions relate to our bodily movements. One thing I enjoyed is she let us put on gloves and touch the brain.

Museum Field Trip

The 5th grade classes went to the Bishop Museum for a field trip to learn about the brain exhibit. It was way more fun than I thought because we were allowed to explore the exhibit.

I learned that the right side of the brain controls your left side of your body and the left side of your brain controls the right side of your body.

Brain Games

Each group in our class were allowed to create a game that had to do with the brain. My group made Brainopoly. Our game was a little disappointing because it was a bit to long. Nobody played it. A couple people tried but left in the middle of it.

I learned from other peoples' games the different senses that each part of your brain controls.

How To

In class we studied Rights Of Passage. We were assigned a rites of passage to tell people how to prepare for each topic. I did parties. I explained in my writing, some ways to get ready for parties. Here is one of them: Make sure your parents know where you are going!
