Brainology

Brain Games

In class, my classmates and I made up games that mixed learning about the brain with fun and competition. This photo shows me playing "BRAINOPOLY", a game inspired by the famous "MONOPOLY", but with a twist. On all the spaces without properties, you had to answer a difficult question relating to the human brain. For example, I learned that Richard Carton discovered brainwaves.

Brain Demonstration

One of my classmates mother is a pathologist, which means she studies brains. We were lucky enough to be able to study a real human brain. It stunk! We learned some new parts with long names. I learned that the pituitary gland secretes hormones.

Brain Trip

In December we went on a field trip to the Bishop Museum. It was an exhibit called "THE BRAIN".This was my favorite picture. It was a real human brain! I learned that optical illusions are your brain doing its best with the information it has, but it mixes it up.

New School

In class, each person made a How-To page for a rite of passage that we might experience. The page told us how to handle it. Mine is on New School, and it gives solutions to problems you could face if you are ever a "New Kid".
