Study of Our Great Brain

Brain Games

This is a picture of me helping with my tables brain game. Our brain game had to do with the five senses of smell, touch, hearing, taste, and sight. Other games did memory, what parts of the brain do certain jobs, how well our brain calculates, and so on.

Brain Dissection

This is a picture of a 70 year old mans brain. As brain scientist, Dr. Belnap has the job of showing us the parts of the brain that allow us to speak, hear, taste, and so on. It was a great privilege to be able to see an actual brain. All three of our fifth grade classes got to hold parts of a brain. The other brain was dissected so we could see the insides. And who knows when we'll see another real brain?

Brain Trip

Our fifth grade classes went to Bishop Museum to see the exhibit about our brain. This is a picture of a brain we saw in the front of the exhibit. the lightning around it represents how much we can brainstorm. A brainstorm is a burst of ideas. The exhibit also showed brains of numerous animals.

Shaving

This is a picture of a guy shaving. My class and I had a project for a ceremony for Rites of Passage. We were all going to make a "How To" booklet to tell everyone about our ceremony. Mine was about shaving. It was a ceremony of which we had to see if we were good shavers, or we had to go to the barber.
