Why Use Biomass
Biomass is a wonderful reusable resource that is 3% of the
United States energy. The United States is trying to develop
more was of burning biomass and use less fossil fuel. Biomass
can pollute the air when burned but not as much as fossil fuels
(sulfur) which can cause acid rain. It is also much less polluting
than petroleum diesel. Biomass is made from organic materials
which are made from plants and animals, containing stored energy
from the sun. Biomass can be converted into other reusable
forms of energy like methane or transportation fuels (ethanol
and bio-diesel). So you see biomass is the energy of the future.
